Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 – Textiles free of harmful substances
The materials we use meet the requirements of the Öko-Tex standard 100 certification. Öko-Tex standard 100 is an international textile testing and certification system that restricts the use throughout the textile production chain of certain textile chemicals that are considered contaminants. The criteria for testing for contaminants are based on the latest scientific research, and are continually updated. Product safety requirements are made stricter every year. According to current knowledge, testing of the standard involves examining substances that are harmful to health and are not yet regulated or prohibited by law. The materials used in Familon pillows and blankets generally pass the most stringent Öko-Tex standard 100 class 1 criteria for baby products. All our other materials meet at least test class 2, which is a requirement for clothing, for example. Öko-Tex® Standard 100 (23.HEE.25931) includes e.g. pillows, duvets, mattress covers and mattress protectors made of 100 % organic cotton and 100 % polyester. Product class 2.

This means that the Swan label criteria are tightened approximately every 3-5 years.

Fire safe – Flammability class SL1 & SL2
The fire safety of Familon Pro bedding products, pillows and duvets is ensured by standard product testing. We never test individual materials – only the end product. This ensures quality compliance for the complete product.
In Finland, the Ministry of the Interior has issued national guidelines and a recommendation on the fire safety of public space interiors. These guidelines apply to mattresses and bedding, among other things. Fireproof SL1-labelled Familon Pro products pass the flame and cigarette test.
